Flavour of the Month

Posted: February 22nd, 2011| Comments Off

We’re always experimenting with new flavours and ideas in our kitchen so have decided to start Flavour of the Month. Each month we’ll have a special cupcake which will be available to order and will make an appearance in the shop each week.

These new cupcakes will be available for a limited time only, but depending on popularity they may have another shot in the limelight (so if you have a favourite do let us know!)

May – Blackcurrant

Fresh blackcurrant puree swirled through light vanilla sponge, filled with blackcurrant preserve and topped with a swirl of deep purple blackcurrant frosting. Like Ribena in cake form. Yum.

Style Me Pretty Feature

We were so excited to be featured on one of our favourite wedding blogs Style Me Pretty as part of the photography gallery from Lisa and Anthony’s wedding last summer. Photographs are by Craig and Eva Sanders Photography and they’ve really captured the bright summery colours the couple had in their cakes and flowers.

If you haven’t ever looked at Style Me Pretty and are needing inspiration for your own wedding, get clicking now. It is an absolute wealth of ideas, DIY projects and gorgeous photos of real weddings from all over the world. Have fun!

Leopard Print Cupcake

This is a giant cupcake with a handpainted leopard print base. Other animal prints available. Rar!

Tea for…two hundred?

Posted: February 1st, 2011| Comments Off

Actually it was only about fifty, but that doesn’t have the same ring to it. These were laid out as little favours for all the wedding guests – vintage china was supplied by the bride.

Snowflake Wedding

Posted: February 1st, 2011| Comments Off

Sparkly winter wedding themed cupcake tower we made for the recent Glasgow Girls Wedding Show. My absolute favourite thing about this is the beaded trim we put on the cake stand – even without the cakes, the stand still looks great! It would look brilliant with twinkly fairy lights too.

Easter Bunny

Posted: February 1st, 2011| Comments Off

Two tiered cake for an Easter Christening. Our customer liked our two tiered dotty cake, but customised the design to suit her Easter theme – springtime colours, a bunny instead of a teddy and the little mini egg decor. We made lots of little Easter cupcakes to match too.
